Arthur Chen works as the managing partner at AlumVest, dedicated to developing trusted networks of engaged supporters and investors for early stage startups. He creates smart, trusted and social investment networks, supporting angle investors "Discover and Invest in New Ventures Through the People They Already Trust." Arthur's life passion is to serve the underserved through innovations. He was a CEO of Kenyataa Light World- the start-up he founded in 2010, to develop transformational technologies and business models that revolutionize the economics & daily tasks of improvised families in Africa and developing countries. Through technologically, organizationally and culturally cooperative innovations, he led Kenyataa to crack the Solar LED industry’s consensus price standard, to reach the real “Bottom of the Pyramid.” Prior to entrepreneurship, he was a technical salesperson at Texas Instruments. He devised a pioneering value-added strategy, leading TI, American NB brands, and Taiwanese ODMs to drive unprecedented R&D partnerships and successfully shifting multi-parties' behaviors from information-withholding for price jockeying, to transparent IP-sharing cooperative design. Eventually, this pioneering R&D platform developed 10 new IC chips and brought $23M revenue. Arthur received his MS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and BS in Material Science from National ChiaoTung University. He is currently studying in LBS’s and Columbia’s Executive MBA program and Stanford GSB’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate Program.
