Dr. Jim Li is a Senior Vice President of ITIC (Industrial Technology Investment Corporation, the venture capital arm of ITRI) and TPTF (Trans-Pacific Technology Fund), focusing on the evaluation and investment in technology companies. He served as judges in many startup competition events.

From 1991 to 1998, he held various hardware/software engineering positions in Symbol Technologies and Telxon Corporation (both are now part of Motorola), Silicon Graphics, and Innomedia Inc. In 1998, he co-founded IC Media Corporation in the CMOS image sensor business and served as director, VP, EVP, and CTO positions. In 2005, the company was acquired by MagnaChip of Korea. He then moved on to become VP of Internet Service & Solutions in Ellie Mae in 2006, and VP of Engineering in ProImage Technologies in 2008. In 2009, he joined SoC Technology Center of ITRI which was later merged into Information and Communications Research Laboratories where he was responsible for new business development, including spin-off and international collaboration.

Jim received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1984, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He holds 19 U.S. and Taiwan patents and has 14 publications in conferences and journals.
