For the last 30 years, China has acted as the manufacturer to the world by taking advantage of their cheap labor, huge production capacities, and export-friendly government policies. In the last few years however, with rising wages, reduced labor supply, and an appreciating currency, China’s export competitiveness has weakened.

At the same time, China’s domestic market has developed a tremendous appetite for consumer products, causing an increase in imports. As such, many global startups are rushing in to capture China's market share.

What does the next decade look like for the Chinese market? What are the new competencies needed to succeed in this competitive environment? How should businesses make China-related decisions for the future?

David Chow (周大任), founding partner of CTC capital and independent investment committee member of CDB (中國國家開發銀行) will share us his unique perspectives on how to survive in the Chinese market. He will discuss about some of the most recent China’s government policies as well as VC/PE trends, and how would the new reforms (ex: HK-Shanghai connect, new regulations on IPOs, and internet finance) shape China’s new entrepreneurial ecosystem, and influence global startups’ China-entry strategies.
