Michel Chu is an experienced serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Michel was the founding CTO of GigaMedia (NASDAQ: GIGM) and led the company through a US$4B IPO in 2000, the first ever Taiwan-based Internet company to be listed on NASDAQ. From 2004, Michel also served as the Executive Vice President of GigaMedia in charge of strategic planning, business development, M&A and general corporate management. Michel co-founded and currently served as the Chairman of VSense Limited, a medical device company developing semiconductor-based biosensors. Michel has extensive domain expertise in diverse fields including cloud computing, mobile Internet, hardware and medical devices. He has been an active angel investor with 15+ years of experiences of coaching, building, inspiring and accelerating entrepreneurial teams. Michel has a demonstrated track record of facilitating start-ups, particularly technology spin-outs from universities. Michel is an respected authority on entrepreneurship and is a sought-after judge / speaker / mentor at the leading entrepreneurial activities.

Michel is currently an adjunct faculty of National Taiwan University, giving courses on Multi-sided Platforms, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Management, Group Dynamics and Leadership.

Michel holds EMBA, an MSEE and a BSEE, all from National Taiwan University. He was enrolled in the computer science PhD program and strategy management PhD program at National Taiwan University.
